October 29, 2015 – ” Doc” at the Elmer Diner

Christy from our Elmer branch shares a wonderful moment: “A regular named “Doc” came in and sat with me for a half hour and ate his breakfast.  He was 93 and his wife is in a nursing home with Alzheimer’s.  I wanted to buy his breakfast and he fought me on it.  I think me being there and sitting and talking with him meant more to him than purchasing his breakfast (I paid for it anyway).  It was a great experience and one of the nicest I’ve had the pleasure of being a part of.”
